May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

This song is the best description one can ascribe to a man with the most awesome talent that spans many decades. He had the ability to slot into any type of music during these decades. He was accepted into genres such as rock and roll, grunge and even punk.

His willingness to simply make music and go wherever his desires lead him is what kept him at the forefront of many different generations. His distinctive voice allows him to fill any gap in a music ensemble. This can be seen, for example, in the way he became part of the Crosby, Stills, Nash and young ensemble. This collaboration started as a sing along and ended up in the studio.

The string of incredibly musical compositions and collaborations with various other singers, have made him one of the icons of the decades ' spanning forty-five years. Two of these, Heart of Gold and Rockin' in the Free World, were both number one hits. That was, however, never the reason for his musical expression. Other favorites were Harvest Moon, Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) and Old Man. The story of the lyrics of Old Man is an intriguing story and needs to be read.

As a very young fifteen year old his mother supported him in this need for expression, as she recognized and acknowledged his talent. This is also where he picked up on his excellent guitar style. One of the great stories about Neil was that he drove around in a black hearse.

As a farmer and a man with a disability himself, he has become involved in issues dealing with disability, Bridge School Benefit Concerts, Benefit for Farm Aid farming and other environmental issues. Neil Young has had a full life.

His band Buffalo Springfield was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 even if it had a very short lifetime. They had released two albums called Buffalo Springfield Again in 1967 and Last Time Around in 1968. The cherry on top is that Neil was also inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 1995 for his solo work.
