South By Southwest
(SXSW) has celebrated over 25 years of conferences, music and film in Austin, Texas, each year better than the last. SXSW has established itself as a perfect event for independent, short or larger media films to thrive, in a city where indie bands build a fan base. Every year tens of thousands of people travel to the heart of Texas for this diverse event, full of crowds, good food, information about the advancing technology, and where attendees can network with industry leaders from all over the country. Previous programs have included talks by Bruce Springsteen, Nina Garcia, Yoko Ono, film premieres such as Paul, and The Source Code. Not to mention music shows featuring the likes of The Strokes, Kid Cudi, and Justin Timberlake. Wired once called SXSW a, "forward-thinking event." It is an event where people can learn and create in an atmosphere that hums with high energy.
AND will be covering various conferences such as conversations with Brendan Stanton, the photographer behind Humans of New York, and Lena Dunham's Keynote, world premieres for films such as Bad Words, Jason Bateman's directorial debut, and the much anticipated Veronica Mars with Kristin Bell, a film that received massive press by the extraordinary way it was funded by fans on Kickstarter. AND will be covering the three biggest aspects of SXSW this year:
Interactive, March 7-11
Workshops, panel discussions, keynotes from influential people in the media industry such as Chelsea Clinton and Lena Dunham (Girls)
Film, March 7-15
World premieres of major headlining films, including The Mend starring Josh Lucas (The Lincoln Lawyer, Sweet Home Alabama), Bad Words, and We'll Never Have Paris with Maggie Gyllenhaal.
