President Trump Threatens To Cut Off Education Funding If Schools Do Not Re-Open In Fall

President Trump and his administration held a “National Dialogue” on reopening U.S. schools and universities in the Fall yesterday. Many educators and exprets argued that the prolonged absence from school for those, particularly those under twenty-years-of-age, was more harmful for U.S. students than the slight risks that would have to be navigated if those schools open this Fall.

Earlier this morning, President Trump tweeted that other nations were opening their schools “with no problems.” President Trump further noted that he believes the push to keep schools closed this fall is political and that he may “cut off” funding if the schools do not open.
