Why Does This Marxist Want Joe Biden in the White House?

This fall there will be a Presidential election.  It will be billed as a contest between a Republican Party candidate and a Democrat Party candidate.

It will not be, not in any meaningful sense.

The Republican candidate will be running on a populist, “America first” platform more reminiscent of Ross Perot than of any Republican candidate before him.

The Democrat candidate will be running on a hard left, radical platform grounded in Marxist ideology. With key campaign advisors like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) and with the support of Bernie Sanders – the man who had a Soviet flag in his office when he was the mayor of Burlington, Vermont – Biden will push the most revolutionary, radical agenda ever presented by a major American presidential candidate.

You may not understand that. Angela Davis does.

Yesterday she appeared on RT, Russian state-controlled television, to support Biden’s candidacy and to urge people to vote for him.

Let’s review exactly who Angela Davis is.

In 1970 Davis was a member of the Black Panthers, a militant domestic terrorist group. She purchased weapons, which were used in an attack on a courtroom in Marin County, California. In the shootout that ensued a superior court judge and three hostages were murdered. After being charged with “aggravated kidnapping and first-degree murder,” Davis went into hiding. She was listed on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted list. Despite the fact that at trial she was shown to have been in contact with the courtroom attackers and aware of their plans, she was acquitted in 1972.

The Black Panthers and affiliated groups like the Black Liberation Army killed at least 35 American police officers in the 1970’s. They also tortured a teenager suspected of being an informant to death. Despite this Davis has never distanced herself from the group and continues to justify their actions to this day.

Davis has collaborated with totalitarian Communist regimes worldwide. In 1971 the CIA estimated that 5% of the entire worldwide Soviet propaganda budget was dedicated to supporting her. Davis first visited the Soviet Union in 1972.

During that visit, Davis was given the keys to the city of Samarkand, made an honorary professor at Moscow University, and toured the Soviet Union. She spoke to workers at Soviet factories, met the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party, and made a host of public appearances. During an event at the Central Journalists Club in Moscow, she stated, “Everything we have seen in the Soviet Union will inspire us in our own struggle. Our devotion to Marxism‐Leninism and Communism and our own ideological convictions have been greatly strengthened.”

In 1979, Davis returned to Moscow to collect her Lenin Peace Prize. By this point, Davis had also met with Fidel Castro and East German leader Erich Honecker and received awards from both of them as well.

In 1980 and again in 1984 Davis received the nomination of the Communist Party USA to be its Vice-Presidential candidate. Gus Hall was the nominee for President. She left the party in 1991 after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the loss of Soviet funding.

After leaving the Communist Party USA Davis was instrumental in the formation of the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS). The CCDS seeks to dismantle the entire capitalist system in the United States and replace it with communism. It views the United States and Israel as the prime sources of oppression in today’s world. The group advocates for a social order where economic resources are “used for the benefit of the many rather than for the profit of the few,” and where “the means of producing wealth—the factories, the land, and the banks—are controlled by the people, through a broad democracy in political and cultural life.”

Davis has not changed her tune one bit as the years have passed. In 2016 in an interview with the Havana Times, she supported clemency for Assata Shakur, a convicted cop-killer who has been in hiding in Cuba ever since she broke out of prison decades ago. In her comments, Davis showed no concern whatsoever for the long string of terrorist actions in which Ms. Shakur has been implicated, focusing instead on Shakur’s inability to see “her grandchildren.” In the same interview, Davis argued for the release of members of the Black Panther Party still behind bars.

In short, Angela Davis is a Marxist revolutionary who supports the replacement of every element of the existing American political, economic, and social order with one based on the principles of Marxism. She does not want protest. She wants insurrection.

She also wants Joe Biden to be your next President. That ought to bother every American of every political persuasion. It should prompt all of us to stop and think about what is really going on and what the real consequences of a vote for Biden will be for this country.
