U.S. Charges Five Chinese Nationals For Hacking Into Over 100 Institutions

The Justice Department has charged five Chinese citizens with hacks targeting more than 100 companies and institutions in the United States and abroad, including social media and video game companies as well as universities and telecommunications providers, officials said Wednesday, reported the Associated Press. Two Malaysian businessmen were also charged and arrested in Malaysia and face extradition to the U.S.

According to multiple new sources, the hackers attacked businesses, universities, software and gaming companies, as well as government of India systems.
