The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced via Twitter that two police officers had been ambushed in New Orleans with one officer having been fatally shot in the face.
The FOP, which has endorsed President Trump in the upcoming 3 November election, stated that “anti-police rhetoric” that has been “spewed by some politicians/media” has “incited criminals to ambush our officers. They further noted that this “must stop.”
Five rounds were fired at the officers’ patrol car while they were sitting at a stop sign. One officers was shot in the face, with a bullet lodged in his skull. That officer was reported to be in critical condition as of last night. The other officer was not shot.
