Rep. Haaland Confirmation Hearing

Haaland Hailed As Potential First Native American Cabinet Member – What About Her Communist Ties?

New Mexico Congresswoman Deb Haaland has been nominated by President Joe Biden to serve as Secretary of the Interior. If confirmed Haaland will oversee the management and conservation of vast swathes of federal land and the natural resources that go with them. Most coverage of her nomination has been limited to noting that she is Native American. Virtually unnoticed have been the significant issues concerning Haaland’s extreme political principles and the support she has received from the Communist Party USA.

Haaland has been photographed in the past carrying signs for the ANSWER Coalition. This is a front group for the North Korean and Chinese Communist aligned Party for Socialism and Liberation. The group campaigns against American foreign policy and against the state of Israel.
Haaland was championed for the Interior job by Judith LeBlanc.

LeBlanc is a senior member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The CPUSA is effectively a mouthpiece for the Communist Party of China. Its website includes numerous pieces lauding the accomplishments of the CCP and holding China up as an example for the United States.

“The world is entering a “new era” of global relations driven by China’s peaceful ascendance and the decline of U.S. and western imperialism. It will affect everything from global economic relations, to global politics and dynamics among communist and workers parties. The economic and social developments in China in the 40 years since the start of socialist market reforms and opening the country to the global economy under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping are staggering and unprecedented in human history. China has leapt from an underdeveloped economy to a largely modern economy and infrastructure almost overnight….A recent Ipsos survey revealed 90 percent of Chinese were satisfied with the country’s path, while only 37 percent of Americans and 11 percent of French said the same.”

LeBlanc has served as CPUSA vice-chair and has been a decades-long member of the party’s governing body, the National Committee. LeBlanc has traveled widely abroad for meetings with foreign communist, “peace” and terrorist organizations. In 2002 she met with Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat.

In recent years LeBlanc has headed a U.S.-based Native-American activist group the Native Organizers Alliance. In this role, she helped organize and direct protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline on the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North Dakota.

LeBlanc and fellow CPUSA leader Libero Della Piana have had a close relationship with Haaland for years. They have socialized and worked together. Immediately following the 2020 election, LeBlanc and the Native Organizers Alliance began a coordinated campaign to secure Deb Haaland the Interior Secretary nomination. This effort included a petition to encourage President Biden to pick Deb Haaland for his Cabinet.

Besides LeBlanc, other leaders of the group pushing Haaland’s nomination include celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Cher, Chelsea Handler, Alyssa Milano, Sarah Silverman, Ai-Jen Poo of the left-leaning National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Gloria Steinem of the North Korea aligned protest group “Women Across the DMZ.”

The Communist Party of the United States is an overtly Marxist organization. Its program makes clear that it intends to destroy the republic and replace it with a Communist state.

“The Communist Party contributes to the struggle of the working class to win its ultimate aim of working-class political power, socialism, and eventually communism. The Communist Party combines and promotes political, economic, organizational, and ideological struggle, the exact nature of which changes alongside changes in the stages of struggle and in the balance of power. The role of the Party during each stage of struggle leading up to socialism is to combine participation with the millions in struggles where they are at, agitation for the next phase of struggle, and advocacy for socialism, linking activism in the struggles of the present with preparation for the struggles of the future.”

Communist Party USA – statement

LeBlanc and her comrades did not champion Haaland because she is Native American. They supported her because they clearly believe her political inclinations are in line with theirs. They seek a Communist revolution in this country, and obviously, they believe that Haaland will help them achieve that.

Exactly what actions LeBlanc and the Communist Party believe Haaland will take on their behalf are as yet unknown. Hopefully, the ongoing confirmation hearings can help address those questions. Perhaps, as well, the hearings can answer this question.

Did Joe Biden pick Deb Haaland to be Secretary of the Interior or did Xi Jinping?
